Loan Officer - Graduate Student Monetary Services

This position is responsible for processing federal and private student loans for graduate and professional students and for making needed adjustments to loans based upon student enrollment changes.

Required Education
* BA degree in related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education). Master’s degree preferred.

Required Experience
* 1- 3 years of business experience and/or higher education experience, preferably in related field.

Primary Duties
* Processes all federal and private student loans for graduate and professional students by transmitting applicant information to the appropriate destination point.
* Analyzes reports to discern errors, fix issues, set and release holds, and perform other loan related processes.
* Uses written and electronic resources and regularly scheduled ongoing training to help develop and properly execute sound student loan policies and procedures.
* Works closely with Student Account Counselor team to properly adjust loans based upon updated student enrollment information and to communicate timely and accurate results of loan adjustments to individual students.
* Processes required “Return to Title IV” program funds for students officially or unofficially withdrawing from the University.
* Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
* Performs other duties related to job description as assigned by supervisor
* Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.

Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word XL.
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
* Good command of the English language with good organizational skills and attentiveness to detail.
* Ability to plan details of procedures and methods to obtain definite objectives.
* Should understand math and be able to use a calculator.
* Should be able to work with minimum supervision, exercising independent judgment and discretion, engaging in logical problem solving.

Mental Demands
* In agreement with the purpose and goals of Azusa Pacific University in providing a Christian-based higher education for its students.

Physical Demands
* Intermittent sitting, standing and walking.
* Hearing and speaking in person and on the telephone.
* Ability to lift, pull, grasp, reach, and stoop.
* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.

Visual Demands
* Reading, writing notes, and computer monitor.

Environment
* Pleasant office, comfortable temperature.

Technologies
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, Google Docs.
